We provide training to parents, students, attorneys, physicians and mental health providers in Special Education Law and School Discipline Law. We also provide presentations on the educational needs of youth in foster care and the school-to-prison pipeline. Since 2010, we have trained over 2500 participants, multiplying the effectiveness of our program by equipping others to advocate.
We also advocate for system-wide changes to improve outcomes for students with disabilities in district, county, and state-wide forums. We have been active in efforts to decrease discipline disparity in MNPS, increase protections for students with disabilities facing truancy charges, and in addressing systemic challenges in the school system.
